The refrigerant facilitates the heating of tank water through conduction, transferring heat from the condenser coil to the water inside the tank.

The NOVA SOLAR Heat Pump continuously transforms refrigerants (R134A/R410A/R417A/R407C/R22) between gas and liquid states. It extracts solar energy from the surrounding air, combining it with electrical energy consumed by the compressor to provide the total heating capacity, which accumulates in the water storage tank.

The evaporator operates as an air-refrigerant heat exchanger, facilitating the vaporization of the refrigerant at low pressure and temperature. This process initiates heat transfer from air to refrigerant. The vaporized refrigerant then enters the compressor, where both pressure and temperature increase.

From the compressor, the vaporized, high-temperature steam moves into the condenser (refrigerant-water) where heat is once again transferred from the refrigerant to the water. The refrigerant now transforms into a liquid under high pressure.

Upon traversing the expansion valve, the refrigerant reverts to its original state, commencing the cycle once again. This continuous circuit persists until the water temperature in the storage tank reaches the predetermined set point on the thermostat controller.
